The campaign "Giving Wings to Books in KAIST' has begun. Its purpose is to enable busy students tied up with studying to read books from time to time, especially in the autumn book reading season.
The Student Council has set up bookshelves to all the dormitories. It proposes that students give reading opportunities to each other by donating books.
Some books selected by the Student Council are displayed in these bookshelves for demonstration. Voluntary student donations have now begun increasing.
Book donation and rental will continue after the campaign concludes. The bookshelves and cost accounting will continue to be managed by Student Council.
The Student Council also requests that students recommend good books. A selection of 10 books identified this way was posted on KAIST student body homepage on November 16th. These books will also be displayed on dormitory bookshelves.
Jung-eun Kim, Vice President of Student Council, said, "Look at the future, not just the present. Even if you don't see any visible change now, it will come eventually." He also encouraged student participation, saying "The books you donate could change another person's life."
