Our nation’s destiny depends on its greater understanding of other cultures. By committing ourselves to developing today’s youth, we ensure that our future society will be built by men and women of character. The HPAIR Union is the only Ateneo organization with ties to Harvard University.
In an increased effort to broaden the cultural horizons of HPAIR members, the organization is having excursions to several international institutions, holding a cultural summit on China for local high schools, sending delegates to the Academic Conference in Beijing this August, and hosting a national conference to culminate the scholastic year.
By hosting these activities, HPAIR hopes to create an intellectually rich atmosphere where students can further their knowledge on cultural understanding. As a student organization we hope to share ideas and lessons with the hope that our efforts will develop leaders of integrity for this society’s future.

We, the members of the Ateneo Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations Union (HPAIR), commit ourselves to the ideals of cross-cultural communication and understanding, and dedicate our efforts to the realization of goals aligned with these ideals, ultimately contributing to solidarity among people from different nations and cultures within and beyond Asia.
The Ateneo HPAIR Union is above all an official international student organization dedicated to the principles of The Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations, or HPAIR. It is “international” because it is a chapter of the HPAIR Network, the international system of HPAIR clubs that HPAIR envisions. It is committed to fostering cross-cultural communication and greater cooperation among future leaders through forums that critically assess economic, social, and political issues in the international arena.
Vision
As a Harvard-affiliated student organization of the Ateneo, the Ateneo HPAIR Union strives, in the spirit of professionalism and excellence, to recruit, train and develop students by facilitating and financing activities that enhance awareness of social, political and economic issues in collaboration and solidarity with other HPAIR organizations as well as with other sectors of the Philippine society.
Objectives
- Academic Training Program: The Ateneo HPAIR Union shall instill operative knowledge and analytical skills that allow one to appreciate a spirited discourse on international issues. The Ateneo HPAIR Union shall inculcate in the student a strong sense of appreciation of key issues through its various training programs. It shall empower one with skills of analysis and shall ground him or her with relevant knowledge of social, political, and economic issues.
- Recruitment Campaign: The Union shall deliberately set out to expand the organization within the Ateneo de Manila and seek to establish ties within and beyond the Ateneo circle.
- Fundraising: This refers to the resource capacity and sustainability of the Union and its activities. Fundraising may be achieved by (1) building strategic corporate alliances; (2) exercising sound fund management; (3) product innovation; and (4) creating an effective marketing strategy.
