Wanderer Owens Limps Home

7.7 rpg, 7.5 ppg ... Not Good Enough

There is much talk about wanderer Billy Owens, who changed his team 6 times. Owens was selected as a third pick by Warriors draft. His performance wasn't outstanding, but he dependably scored an average of 15 ppg (points per game) - until he played at Heats. After Miami, he wandered here and there and eventually came back to Golden State, where he recently helped the Warriors make 2 consecutive wins.

The Warriors' coach didn't comment about his performance, since the the team's most recent record of 4 wins and 4 losses far exceeds their average performance for the season. However, Owens made several powerless plays in a row, and his record of 7.7 rebounds per game and 7.5 points per game just doesn't live up to people's expectations.

Except for the game with Philadelphia (12 rebounds, 18 points), his performance has deteriorated noticeably. Some say that he might not have been a good choice. But it gets worse. His zero scoring in the game with Atlanta on the 26th caused him to sit and watch the rest of game on the bench.

Currently, the Warriors' forwards are swamped because their main striker, Antwan Jameson, is injured. No matter how hard Cappy trys to compensate for Jameson's absence, if Owen doesn't back up well, it will the same as eating ribs without teeth.

Billy Owens is a very nice person who goes hospital to look after children lying on sick rooms every weekend …. If this 9-year-old veteran would engage in some daring play, the remaining Warriors games might be improved.
